The world’s best freeriders return to Georgia for the second time, battling for crucial points with two more events to go before the Cut.
Event Dates: The Georgia Pro’s weather window runs from February 23 – March 1, 2025
High Stakes: Stop 4 of the season, with only one more event to go after Georgia Pro before the Cut
Event Wildcard: Snowboarder Jaba Skhvediani returns to compete on home soil
MESTIA, Georgia – February 18, 2025: The FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance is back in Georgia for the fourth stop of the 2025 season, following three intense competitions in Europe and North America. Tetnuldi Resort, nestled in the stunning Svaneti region, made history last year by hosting its first FWT event, and now it returns as a key battleground as the season moves closer to the Cut.With a weather window from February 23 – March 1, organizers will select the best possible day to ensure optimal freeride conditions. After standout performances at the first three events, the fight for the Golden Bib is more competitive than ever. With one more stop in Fieberbrunn after Georgia before the Cut, every run is crucial for riders hoping to secure their place in the final phase of the Tour.
Rankings Update: The Battle for the Golden Bib
With this event and one more remaining before the Cut, the competition is fiercer than ever. In Snowboard Men, Victor de Le Rue (FRA) continues to lead, but Jonathan Penfield (CAN) and Enzo Nilo (FRA) are closing the gap, making the Georgia Pro a pivotal battleground. Meanwhile, in Snowboard Women, Noémie Equy (FRA) has been dominant all season, but Anna Martinez (FRA) and Michaela Davis-Meehan (AUS) are still in contention, ready to challenge her hold on the top spot.
The Ski Men category is shaping up to be one of the closest battles of the season, with Valentin Rainer (AUT), Marcus Goguen (CAN), and Ben Richards (NZL) all separated by a narrow margin. Any of them could take the lead with a big performance at the Georgia Pro. In Ski Women, Justine Dufour-Lapointe (CAN) remains in control, but Astrid Cheylus (FRA) and Molly Armanino (USA) are within reach, ready to shake up the standings.
With two events still ahead before the Cut, every run counts as riders fight to secure their place in the final showdown at the YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda.
Event Wildcard: Jaba Skhvediani Returns
For the second year in a row, Georgian snowboarder Jaba Skhvediani has been awarded the event wildcard, giving him another chance to compete on home snow. After making a name for himself in freestyle competitions across Europe, he has now transitioned into freeriding, bringing his aerial skills and creative approach to the big-mountain stage. His deep knowledge of the terrain and freestyle background could be key advantages as he takes on the world’s best freeriders.
"To compete at home once again is a huge honor. I can’t wait to ride among the best and showcase what freeriding in Georgia is all about!"
